SEE THE CITY FROM A DIFFERENT VIEW
Work hard, play hard.......and make a few quid for charity along the way. That's increasingly becoming the City Residential motto!
We've already managed to raise tens of thousands for the Claire House Children's Hospice through organising and participating in a cycle to Cork and a marathon in Patras, and with your help, we intend to make a bit more by means of another sporting challenge.
But this is not the Culture Triathlon team at it again. This time around we've agreed to take part in the Haliwell's Corporate Challenge. In conjunction with Rippleffect, we were given £100 to 'grow' as much as possible by the end of April. Most teams started work on growing their money trees back in February, but we were a little tied up with the opening of our new Manchester office, launch of a new website....and selling the odd apartment or two in between!
So with just two weeks to go, mindful of the fact that there was no golf society in place for the business community, the Liverpool 08 Golf Society was formed.
A networking, sporting and no doubt very competitive coalition, the Golf Society encompasses 30 corporate members and the membership fees alone have created a growth of around £4500 for Claire House. But we didn't want to stop there. We have pledged to provide continual yearly support for the charity with the help of commitment from yourselves to indulge in two-four rounds of golf over the course of the year. Each golf day will incorporate additional fundraising ideas to maximise the contributions made to the charity. Talks are currently taking place with pro golfer Paul Affleck who will be providing 'pro-golf master classes' at one of the events.
The final venue will see the corporate team who has scored most golfing points over the course of the year, presented with the honour of choosing which charity the Golf Society should raise money for in the following year. The format includes 18 holes and clearly provides a fantastic opportunity for networking with the community, or simply entertaining your clients.
So what do we need from you? An upfront fee approximately one month in advance of each Golf day, which is anticipated to cost around £75-£100 per player. Each corporate member may invite three additional guests to each Golf day, meaning the total cost to each member for the day would be in the region of £300-£400.
Of course we also need your commitment to play at least two golf days over the year. Other than that, we just expect you to adhere to City Residential's new motto.
Please see details of golf days below. We look forward to competing with you this June.
